Tattoo Blues

The worst part about not having a stable income has got to be the fact that I can't get tattooed. I've been trying to finish a piece on my side for over 3 years now, and I know it'll be another summer before it's finished. I've also been wanting to finish a lower half sleeve for a long time. I've tortured myself for the past hour looking at prints online, so now I'm sharing with and torturing you!

Necromance // Corinne Alexandra

I follow Corinne's blog Stuck With Pins and it's always such an interesting, refreshing, and inspiring read. I don't even remember how I found out about her but I'm so in love with her work!

Sailor & Flapper // Parlor Tattoo Prints

I absolutely adore Quyen Dinh's work. Every single bit of it. Check out her Etsy shop and you'll probably be really tempted to buy something!

Elizabeth Taylor & Gentlemen's Club // Vika Valter

The last two prints are from the Society6 shop Vika Valter. I love his tattooed versions of Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn Monroe.

Mr. Cover-Up // Chris Stuart

Chris Stuart is an amazing tattoo artist located less than two hours from my home. The day after Corey and I got married, we went to a tattoo convention and I'm pretty sure he won like ten awards. We actually bought the print pictured above! He doesn't have an actual shop, but if you're interested in his work, just e-mail him.

I'm feeling very inspired to draw and paint after browsing for so long, and I could really use some practice. Corey doesn't get to come home this weekend anymore, so I imagine I'll have lots of free time to be practicing new art forms (one of my goals for this year) like crocheting and watercolor. Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  1. Not being able to afford tattoos is the most frustrating thing ever! In three and a half years since my last one, I've only managed to (recently) save 25$. :( But looking through prints is definitely awesome for the drive to make art!

    1. It's hard to put money aside when there isn't a lot of it. The best tactic for me was to save every bit of change in a jar, and not use it until it's full! My first (legal) tattoo was paid for this way!
