Craft Room Inspiration

The craft room has honestly been the last room I've thought about decorating! Having our living room, bedroom, and nursery ready took priority, so I'm just starting to think about how I want to put my craft room together. Luckily, Corey and I both get our own rooms to do whatever we want with. :)

BEFORE PICTURE

As you can tell from the before picture, the room is pretty spacious! I bought some storage stuff from Michael's when it was 50% off so I'll be making good use of that. I really like the open shelving in the first picture and how pretty all the washi tape looks stacked up that way. I have a desk that I painted teal last year and was in my previous craft room, but I'd love to have a big ole table like in the second picture.

Until a big table is an affordable option, I'll probably put my desk against the wall like in pictures 3 and 4. I love the use of peg boards in craft rooms! Since the walls are white right now, I'll probably get a peg board and spray paint it a bright color. Again, I'm digging the shelving in all of these rooms!

I like to be pretty organized, so having places to store all of my supplies is important to me! There are so many ways to store fabric (like in a file cabinet) but I like this cheap idea of using plastic drawers. I can't wait to post pictures of how the craft room is coming along!

Craft Room Tour

Last January on my birthday, I started a 24 before 24 goal list. One of my main concerns was creating an inspiring place to do crafts and just hang out. I didn't have a lot of funds for creating it, so I did a lot of improvising and I really love the way that it's turned out.

I love how the afternoon light shines through the sheer curtains.

I didn't get a very good picture of the desk, but I bought it from a friend for $10 and primed it then painted it a bright teal. It turned out so well! I always save glass jars and I finally got to display them here.

This is just a little view of the bookshelf. On top is a print Corey got at a tattoo convention and two cameras I've been fortunate enough to find while thrifting. On the bottom are some bows in a jar, some hair clips and cabochons to prepare for the market.

The bottom two shelves I use to display a huge set of this vintage dish set I scored for $4! There are more plates, bowls, and a coffee and creamer set on the other shelf.

I got this craft organizer from Michael's for half off, and it's come in handy SO much. I store random little things on the top, and materials on the bottom. (pictured below)

I got this futon and ottoman set from a good friend for $20 and it fits so well in the room. I love that it's black because most of the room is white with random pops of color. My favorite things in the room are the gallery wall of screen prints and the pillow on the futon that my grandmother made!

This is one of my favorite prints. Actually, they're all pretty awesome so who am I kidding?! Maybe I'll do another post one day with better pictures of the prints.

I'm so glad that it's July. I went out with my mom today, and we got a bunch of new fabrics and materials. Most of my Sick-Sweet items are expiring on Friday, and I think I'm just going to take them down and wait until I can list a whole batch of new products. I have so many great ideas and finally the materials to get started on them. We also got a bunch of healthy groceries so I've got some new recipes to try out this month, so be on the lookout for a recipe post! :)
